Reebok Z-Rated Shoes & Workout

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Reebok.

Sometimes it’s not enough to just be fast. You need to be able to move quick. If your daily run is never running in a straight line, this shoe is your kind of shoe. Check it out!

reebok zquickReebok just came out with a really cool high-traction running shoe that’s made to move quick. If you like the natural feel of a super light shoe that gives you just enough cushion without losing the feel of the road, this shoe is for you! What I love most about this shoe (besides how light it is) is definitely the traction. Traction is out of control. The outer sole is designed for maximum ground contact so your foot really grabs the ground for quick switches, turns, jumps and stops. Not only is this great for running (especially when your route includes navigating around traffic, puddles, people, dogs and uneven sidewalks) I’m super excited about using these shoes on my functional training days. These shoes are going to crush sprints, box jumps, heismansShuffle Touches, and other exercises that require more traction.

Inspired by hi-performance, Z-Rated tires, the Reebok Z Run running shoe are like sports car tires on your feet. The Z-Rated technology delivers control, traction and speed – just like my Corvette!

reebok zquickHere are the things I like most about the shoe:

  • Super Light
  • Smooth No-Sew upper
  • Low-cut for mobility
  • Roomy toe box
  • Awesome tread for killer control, traction and speed
  • Super flexible midsole

Here’s a cool video on the technology of the shoe:

ReeboksI love fashion. I may not always be the most “fashionable”, but I love to “play” with style. Since there are not a lot of accessories you can wear while working out, (I mean, it’s not like you can wear bangle bracelets, chunky necklaces and chandelier earrings), you’re somewhat limited to the actual clothes you have to wear to get your sweat on.

For instance, I have to wear socks, so they might as well be fun! I have to wear tennis shoes, so they might as well be colorful. I often have to put my hair up in a ponytail, so why not wear pigtails with matching rubber bands? Why not, right?

FUN SOCKS

I wear workout clothes for a living. After years of wearing black and grey, I was super excited about all the pretty color that entered into the fitness world. Then I discovered cute tennis shoes that didn’t look like bulky tennis shoes. Slowly, but surely, I started wearing more tennis shoes with everyday clothing – because shoes were so much cuter than ever before. Since I have so many flashy colored Reeboks, I was ready to get a more neutral pair for every day use – in or out of the gym. I have have very little that matches grey, and NOTHING that matches blue, so I thought I’d try designing my next pair of shoes!  Here are some of my custom Nano 2.0s (my favorite in and out of the gym tenny!). Now I’m just trying to figure out which one to buy – OR should I try a new color combo?

Which one do you like best?

Reebok Nano 3.0 Product Review: 5 Things I Love

Nano 3.0People have been asking me how I like my new Reebok Nano 3.0s. Before I answer, I must tell you how much I love my Nano 2.0s already. I have to admit, I was a little bummed when I heard they had changed. I loved my old ones so much, I was worried I wouldn’t like these as much. However, like with anything else Reebok gets their hands on, they’ve made improvements.

It’s obvious they asked the pros what they’d like to see different, and better, and they did it. And, what I already liked, they kept. Here’s the lowdown…

5 Things I Love About the Nano 3.0.

Nano. 3.01. Wider toebox. This allows your toes to spread out for great balance. The Nano 2.0 already had a nice roomy toebox, but this is even roomier for even more stability.

2. 4 mm heel drop. This keeps your foot flat on the ground, great for heavy lifts when your heel should not be raised, but nice, flat and stable on the floor for maximum power production.

3. More durable. The rubberized cage that completely surrounds the shoe makes this shoe a lot more durable than the 3.0, as well as offers more support. They also used a stronger polyester on the outside of the shoe, called Rope Pro, specifically designed to be more durable during rope climbing.

nano 3.04.  Non-slip grip sole. This is great for all the crazy stuff we do in boot camp, or any other functional training program, like box jumps, mountain climbers, burpees, etc. It’s dependable gripping sole will help prevent you from falling on your face – cause, that’s no fun! 😉

5. Flexible sole for functional moves. Shoes that offer too much support can often be too stiff. As a result, they slip off the back of the heels when doing exercises like mountain climbers, squat thrusts, etc. This shoe has a nice easy bend at the toe box so your shoe and foot move together.

How do you know if Nanos are right for you?

  • Do you do heavy lifts, like dead lifts, squats, clean & jerk, split jerks, kettlebell snatches, high pulls, swings, etc?
  • Do you do sprints or short bursts of runs in your training?
  • Do you do a lot of plyometrics – like double unders, burpees, mountain climbers, tuck jumps, etc
  • Do you jump on tires, boxes, steps or other objects?
  • Do you climb rope or obstacles?
  • Do you like a minimalist shoe with a flat sole?
  • Are you tough on your shoes, where you wear holes in the fabric, side walls or toe?

If you are a marathon runner, these shoes are not for you. If you lift weights using only machines, it probably won’t matter what you wear. However, if you do any of the above training, these are a great cross-training shoe that allows your training to be versatile without having to change shoes for different exercises.

Here are what some CrossFit athletes had to say about the new Nano 3.0s.

How Flexible Are Your Tennis Shoes?

trip-to-bard-029This is what I think of when I think of jeans and tennis shoes. Sorta nerdy and less than fashionable. With that said, over the last 20 years of being in the fitness industry, I have NEVER been seen out shopping in tennis shoes. I’ve always worn tennis shoes to the gym and regular “girlie” shoes  when dressed in regular clothes. I’ve never liked the way tennis shoes looked with jeans, and I never thought tennis shoes looked nice with regular clothes – that is, until now. Reebok Realflex shoes are not just flexible in function, they are flexible in style.

realflexThe thinner, lighter material keeps this shoe streamlined and less bulky than a traditional tennis shoe. So, even when I’m wearing jeans, the cute little toe box looks nice poking out the bottom of my jeans. Since the colors are fun an colorful, they keep my outfits stylish, unlike many drab tennies that make you look like a tourist (’cause that’s how tourists dress around here in Florida).

This may not be that newsworthy to you, but to me – it is totally new and exciting. Finally I can dress comfortable without compromising style. Plus, I make the most out of my tennis shoes because they are not restricted for gym use only. So, if you buy right, you get more bang for your buck – and more fun too!

Here’s how I’ve been wearing my shoes lately…

Realflex Goes Shopping

Here are my feetsies surrounded by shopping bags as I was putting everything in my trunk. My Realflex shoes were my shoe of choice for every Christmas shopping trip I went on – and I got compliments on my shoes every where I went! Seriously, I wore a bright orange long sleeve shirt that said “Eat Clean, Train Dirty”, jean shorts and these orange and granite Realflex shoes – and people literally stopped me to tell me they loved my shoes. I even had an older gentleman pay me the sweetest compliment while shopping at Dillards. So, you see, you don’t have to “dress up” to be dressed nice.

Realflex Takes Flight

My Realflex shoes were also my choice of shoe for flying. I NEVER dress sloppy when flying. I typically compromise comfort for style, even when dragging  luggage through the airport. This time I wore a cute sweat shirt with pink on it over a lime green spagetti strap sports bra with Miss Me Jeans and my Pink & Green tennies to match- and I was comfy but not sloppy.

Here is the picture of my shoes taking a ride through security with one of my favorite purses. 🙂

Realflex Goes Wild

I wore my Realflexes to the Busch Sanctuary, where My family and I enjoyed a private tour and got to pet and feed the animals. Before Realflex, I would have probably worn flip flops over tennis shoes. Now my tennis shoes are just as much an accessory as my crazy lightening bolt knee high socks (Steve gave me for Christmas). Yes, tennis shoes are more practical and comfortable than flip flops, but now they can also be a fashion statement with all the fun color combinations they offer.

I’m not a fashion guru or anything, but I do want to look nice – and finally, I can dress both comfortably and fashionably all at once!
